London Fashion Week 2013 (Throwback)

I haven't blogged about LFW on this blog, as this is a fairly new blog and because it's around this time last year I thought I'd reminisce!

Day two of LFW marked my first time ever at LFW, and what can I say: It was an amazing experience. Becky and I arrived at Somerset house (which is so pretty!) and as we were competition winners, we were escorted to the Vodaphone VIP exclusive lounge where we got offered champagne and refreshments and spoke to the stylist Colomba Giacomini, who has worked for designers such as Louis Vuitton and Jimmy Choo! It was all extremely exciting.

(Awful picture but it's the only one I can find where I'm looking at the camera, ha!)

Soon after, we went upstairs which led to the Jasper Conran AW13 show, and I think it is safe to say, it is all about NEON. The show was phenominal and different to his usual style, but I loved it!
We also got given LFW Tote bags designed by Mulberry - which I was SO excited about - it's so beautiful!
And finally... as London is one of my favourite cities, I had to take a few pictures.

Tim Walker

Recently I have been doing a lot of research into not just fashion icons, but photographers and surrealists. I knew who Tim Walker was, however I didn't know that much about him and his work. I've become so fascinated with his work since researching it! I love the quirky/unusual personality that all of his photos have, I think he creates amazingly juxtaposed images; what with his bizzare "mise-en-scene" ideas deviating from the norms of classy/sophisticated couture fashion photo shoots.

SUNDAY STYLE ENVY: Mary Katrantzou

Every Sunday I will be starting a post named "Sunday Style Envy". This post will be based on inspirations I come across in the week, such as: style, graphic, magazine, film, music, designers etc.. I'll put together an outfit which is inspired by or relevant to this!

MARY KATRANTZOU

Recently I have been loving Mary Katrantzou's collections. Her designs are inspired by digital photography of the natural environment and landscapes. I first heard of her when she brought out her SS12 collection for Topshop. I love the idea of mixing graphics and photography in fashion so I was instantly drawn to her designs! She is definitely one of my favourite designers.

OUTFIT: TOP TO TOE TOPSHOP

We were asked to take a picture of ourselves in an everyday outfit which defines our style. I also used this photo in my style blog which I have just started (http://ania-style.blogspot.co.uk). I'd say my style is quite minimalistic and simple, I never wear anything too "extravagant" just because I don't think it suits me! I usually wear clothes that I feel comfortable in and shoes that I can actually walk in! However, I do usually love to wear clothes of different prints especially on the top and keep it quite simple on the bottom. I would also say I'm not much of a dress person, I hardly ever wear dresses for my casual style! Trousers, skirts and shorts suit me much better!
